Bits of stuff. Online, mostly.

ROSE Online
I've been playing it, I tried it for a week before a certain total character reset occured. I rather like it, and will likely keep playing so long as it's still free. (Go beta!) In this one, like perhaps some others I haven't played, even fighter types have a use for their MP in their own professions. As usual, my favorite types to play seem to be the least combat-oriented, an thus suffer in such high-combat required games. (In this case, I rather like the muse (their mage) on the destructive (and thus more solo) side (which I can't remember what it is called, thus I call it wizard) and the dealer on the creative side, called the artisan. Both tend towards low HP and are borderline support characters.)
Now, I've played for a couple days since the reset. I have two characters, easily recognizable names for those few who want to find me.
My muse-'wizard' (to be) character:Sparksol (Big surprise.) My second character, the dealer-artisan(to be):Sparksolur. (Again, originality at it's mediocre.) I think I'll be using Sparksolur for a while at first, to build up money to buy the skills. Whichever I play, I'll be playing mostly on channel 3 or 1, whichever has better occupancy/less lag. ('Cause I'm on dial-up, as all three of you who read this know.)
Side Note: If you play, or start to, let me know, alright? I know a whole one person (from another board, Gaia) on ROSE otherwise, which makes for soloing. ...then again, this is a beta, so I guess I could try to find more bugs than I have so far, which are mostly graphical, and partially mapping oddities.
Wayside Note: When this goes pay-for-play, I may go towards Guild Wars, as that's supposed to be free to play. The only thing keeping me from starting into it now and ignoring ROSE is that I prefer these anime (or pseudo-anime, pixelated, etc.) themed games to more 'realistic' ones. I keep an existance on the net because I'm trying to escape reality, not trying to drag it along to everything else. I've spent at least as much time in escapes from reality as I have inside it, I don't see any good reason to stop now.

Date: 2005-05-18 05:32 am (UTC)Well.. I haven't played in awhile. But myself and Arvin (Saegil) sometimes play. ^^
I probably have a lot of patches to download before I can play again. Haven't played in a month or so. @_@

Take it with a grain of something or other.

Date: 2005-05-18 03:14 pm (UTC)I play (when I can) for a short time somewhere between 7 and 11:30pm pacific time ('Daylight Savings' style) so I might even find a group to, well, group with.
Oh yeah, and I don't think she reads my journal - which is, I admit, mostly meme at this point - so I doubt she knows I'm on. Yet.
