WoW update. Ignore if you don't play.

Just amazing. I finally tried one last server monday night, Shadow Council. I can actually play it for more than a few minutes! I put together a tweaky little gnome warrior, and accomplished in one evening what had taken an entire week of disconnectiveness; making it out of the starting zone having finished the quests.
Without a single disconnect the entire time.
A few minutes ago, I ran to Ironforge and into all the busy sections I could find, ending with the Auction House, to see if that would disconnect me, and it did not.
I think that maybe, just maybe, I will be playing this after all, even if it is just on this one server. Although I will occasionally try others out.
...and I'll make a different character to play as. A gnome warrior I did not plan to play as for very long.
Oh yeah, and I can keep on this demo account until thursday, which I will do. Which means I can't use mailboxes, the auction house, make trades, etc. -_-
So I'll accumulate some goods while I wait.

Date: 2005-08-24 03:41 am (UTC)I did try one character on Scarlet Crusade, but I don't know if it would work out. SC was less prone to dropping me suddenly than was Feathermoon, but my only character there right now is Togathra, a Tauren Druid.
Still, I may try it out again later to see if it'll support me. I'll look for Kassini with...hmm...Gnome something. Gnomes are awesome. Suggestions welome.

Date: 2005-08-24 07:11 pm (UTC)It's crazy. But now we (myself plus the guy whose router I'm using, for the price of ten bucks a month) have figured out that strategy to solve the problem, hopefully. Also, for testing purposes, we installed WoW on two other computers (a desktop and a laptop). It runs surprisingly well on the laptop, and he's now using the 10-day free trial account that came with my purchase of a regular account.
Did I ever find you on Feathermoon? If you ever make it back there, my main Alliance char is Hadoru the Night Elf; my main Horde char is Lupiko the Tauren. Both are Druids and Engineers. Maximum antisocialization and geekiness. You go off into the wilderness to commune with nature, and when you get back, you spend the remainder of your time in the workshop, tinkering. Nature geek + technology geek == no social life.
Plus I'll be able to make EZ-Thro Dynamite to hand out. *giggle* (Well, Lupiko can already make it, but Hadoru hasn't yet been able to find it on the Ironforge Auction House.)
